Farmhouse Fellow Miche Follano has been selected in the latest cohort of emerging makers by the Crafts Council for the Hothouse scheme.

The Hothouse scheme provides 40 emerging makers with a programme of focused, intensive business skills and creative development, complemented with 1:1 support over a three month period.

The scheme is for makers within two years of setting up their business who already display a high level of technical craftsmanship and originality but need support for the next phase of their business and creative development.

In a marketplace where the bespoke and handmade is being recognised and celebrated by global brands the skill and knowledge of the individual maker becomes ever more powerful.

Miche will join other successful makers as part of the Hothouse East division, being run in partnership with Smiths Row and the University of Hertfordshire.

Rosy Greenlees, Executive Director, Crafts Council welcomes the makers from our own local region:

“We look forward to the creative energy that the four new cohorts will bring to the Hothouse scheme. The makers selected for the East cohort span a range of disciplines and materials and we look forward to working with Smiths Row and University of Hertfordshire to developing their practices further.”
