A brand new workshop – Sat 28th October – Solar Printing with Sally Tyrie

We are delighted to announce the new programme of Print Workshops to be held at the Forge Studios.

Sat 28th October – Solar Printing with Sally Tyrie

Fee is £70. 10.30 – 4pm

A brand new workshop – We will look at how to create sophisticated prints using Photopolymer plates combined with a photograph or drawing of your choice. You will create a range of prints from a plate which you have created using our UV light box. All materials provided. 

You will be provided with 1 A5 Plate and be able to purchase additional plates if needed. 

Sat 25th November  Making Xmas cards using  Lino printing with Katharine Green

Fee is £65  10.30 – 4pm

This day will involve designing and printing your own unique handprinted and very special xmas cards. 

Location; All print sessions will be held at the Digswell Arts ‘Forge’ studios, in the fully equipped print workshop, which houses a large etching press and Albion Press. Other facilities include a kitchen and ample on-site parking. The ‘Forge’ is located in Digswell, Herts (near Welwyn) It is 5 minutes drive from the A1M (junc 6) and a 7 minute walk from Welwyn North train station.

All workshops are suitable for beginners and the more experienced.

The teaching is individual due to the small size of each class, so can be tailored to individual needs.

The fee includes all materials such as artists quality printmaking paper and professional inks.

Tea and biscuits are also provided.

About the Tutors

Sally Tyrie is a Fine Artist Printmaker and has been based at the studios since 2009.  She has a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University and an MA in Fine Art with Distinction from the University of Hertfordshire.  An experienced Art teacher, Sally has worked part time in Schools and Colleges for over 20 years and has a PGCE in Art Education. Courses often feature unique processes she uses in her own work. Sally exhibits her work regularly and her  work can be seen in a number of galleries in the UK. Katharine Green – Guest Fine Artist Katharine Green has had her work selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and her work is represented in a number of regional galleries. A number of her designs have also been published as a group of Fine Art greeting cards with ‘Green Pebble’. Katharine originally studied Illustration at Portsmouth University.   http://www.greenpebble.co.uk/katharine-green-printmaker
