Above Below and Long Ago

Above Below and Long Ago’ is published on the 13th October by Wayland – written by science and wildlife author Michael Bright with linocut illustrations by Jonathan Emmerson.

The linocut illustrations were carved and printed by Jonathan at The Forge, Digswell and his home studio.

Produced with the Natural History Museum, this book brings you closer to the wildlife that’s hard to reach – to the animals and plants in the skies, deep underwater, on clifftops, in caves and underground. Find out how plants and animals adapted to these environments and about wildlife from long ago. Filled with stylish linocut prints of wildlife, this is a book you will admire for its beauty as well as for the fascinating information inside.

Discover the snow leopard as it hunts mountain goats and sheep, the ghostly pale, eel-shaped olm and a mysterious orchid that only blooms underground.

This beautiful book reveals the textures and patterns of the natural world.

Death Dreams & Desire

We are a collective of five working artists who meet regularly to share and discuss the progress of our work. Through doing so we have identified a number of common themes; memory, loss, re-emergence and return. These are expressed by each of us through a variety of concepts and techniques. Our practices include drawing, painting and printmaking; sculpture; photography and film;
documentation, installation and live art.
