Allistair Covell, based at the Farmhouse site, is featured in the September 2015 issue of FX Magazine as his painting, ‘Flora’s Secret’, will be appearing in the FX Drawing Exhibition at the Morgan showroom in Clerkenwell during the London Design Festival 2015. The FX Drawing Exhibition, in association with Ecophon, is celebrating the art of drawing within the design industry.
Allistair’s vibrant painting ‘Flora’s Secret’ has been featured twice in the magazine; first on the ‘reporter’ news pages, advertising the exhibition and later in the article, ‘Drawing Attention’ written by the editor Theresa Dowling who champions the art of drawing within the design industry and describes the show as an opportunity to see “drawing diversity from designers across textiles, industrial architecture, interior design and fine art”.
Allistair’s painting also features in the accompanying article on the magazine’s website, DesignCurial, promoting the exhibition online: http://www.designcurial.com/news/drawing-attention-4663849/
FX Magazine has for more than 20 years been the essential magazine for the contract interior design industry, bringing its readers the best new products and projects from around the world as well as in-depth reporting on the latest trends and interviews with leading designers.
‘Flora’s Secret’ is an ink and acrylic painting that Allistair painted whilst studying Fashion and Textile Design at university. A stylised interpretation of still life flowers, the painting is part of a series and became the main inspiration behind his Spring / Summer 2010 textile print collection.
