Saturday 6th October – Linoprinting with Katharine Green
Fee is £70 – Times 10.30 – 4 pm
This one day workshop will give you the opportunity to learn, and expand on, the techniques of Linoprinting. The day will initially involve drawing a design that will then be transferred onto a piece of lino and then carved out before printing the finished piece in the afternoon. This workshop is open to beginners looking to try something new and to those already familiar with the medium and want to expand on their knowledge. The subject of your design is completely up to you although there will be an Autumn theme in mind with a selection of seed heads and seasonal plants on hand to draw from on the day.
All inks, tools, lino and paper for printing will be provided…Plus tea and cake !
Saturday 17th November – Drypoint etching combined with Monoprint and Carborundum with Sally Tyrie
Fee is £70 – Times – 10.30 – 4pm
On this one day workshop you will explore ways of combining the linear, drawn and exquisite marks obtained with Drypoint and the more painterly and textural approach of monoprint and carborundum. You will work with a Rhenalon plate and have the opportunity to create marks using a range of tools. This technique is a very immediate and straightforward process which produces unique prints with immense depth. This day is suitable for beginners as well as those wishing to explore and improve their results. You will use Oil based Litho ink.
Saturday 1st December – Making Xmas cards using Lino printing with Katharine Green

All print sessions will be held at the Digswell Arts ‘Forge’ studios, in the fully equipped print workshop, which houses a large etching press and Albion Press. Other facilities include a kitchen and ample on-site parking. The ‘Forge’ is located in Digswell, Herts (near Welwyn) It is 5 minutes drive from the A1M (junc 6) and a 7 minute walk from Welwyn North train station.

All workshops are suitable for beginners and the more experienced.
The teaching is individual due to the small size of each class, so can be tailored to individual needs.
The fee includes all materials such as artists quality printmaking paper and professional inks.
Tea, coffee and cake are also provided.
