Copper Foiling

This wonderful technique involves joining pieces of glass together with copper foil tape which has been burnished to the glass pieces.

This course is a taster day running from 10am until 4pm and is suitable for those with little or no experience. All tools and materials are provided. The course is held at Digswell Arts, The Fenners Building in the heart of Letchworth. The workshops are limited to 4 participants only to ensure that you get the attention you need to master this beautiful craft.

You will learn glass selection, cutting and shaping glass and how to copper foil and solder the glass together to make a design of your choosing. Designs will be available or make your own!

Tea and a variety of cake and biscuits will be provided (please let me know if you have any special dietary requirements when booking) and there is a break at 1- 1.45pm which gives you enough time to grab something to eat in Letchworth. The Fenners building is right in the centre of town, and cafes and shops are only a minute away.

‘Just a quick email to say “thank you” for a lovely day in your studio. Your style of teaching is relaxed and very informative at the same time. I am going to frame one or two of my prints from the day and the one I bought from you. You have wetted my appetite to get cracking on progressing with art.’

“Just a note to thank you for the workshop on Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed it and valued being able to see and try out the range of equipment available. I am now going to get myself some oil-based inks and paper from either Intaglio or the place that you mentioned in Knebworth, and will then be in contact to try to arrange a date to come over and do some printing”.
