Andy is dyslexic and as a result was educated at home after the age of eleven. From an early age art has been his most important creative outlet as well as his major passion which has shaped and created the person he is today. It provided an area where he excelled away from the race for constant exams and results.
Andy has worked in many media as he has explored his artistic creativity before deciding to specialise in sculpture. A love for wood and tactile materials encouraged him towards a concept of 3D. The beauty and constant changing of the human form with the memories and evolution of life provide new inspiration for every work.
Andy took the decision not to take the normal route of studying Art at college but to learn from first hand experience visiting many professional sculptors, both international and local, having work experience and learning from them.
Andy is a fellow of the Digswell Art Trust and has studios in the Old Forge at Welwyn.
He has been a finalist in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and has exhibited in the National Open Art Competition as well as doing private commissions and exhibiting in local galleries.
