maxinek1Maxine King studied Visual Arts at Camberwell College of Arts.

“The theme concurrent to her practice as an artist is the unearthing of mystical, magical beauty of the human psyche…her drive to unearth hidden subjective qualities and poetic truths that occur in a particular site.”  T Longmire 2009

Current work uses drawing, photography, photocopying and film to construct portraits of 19th century women Catherine Eddowes, Annie Chapman, Mary Kelly, Mary Ann Nichols and Elizabeth Stride, considered by many as victims of the London serial killer known as Jack the Ripper.

Previous work includes Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail.
