Fellow Dave Nelson
Dave creates pictures that evoke memories of places, journeys and forgotten feelings. You feel the emotion of the piece before you think about it consciously. The pictures reference childhood memories of places and events, combined with more recent visits and experiences.
Although Dave was thrown out of Art Class at school at 14, Art was always his passion. After learning to draw and paint, and achieving some success, he took the momentous decision last year to resign and work full-time as an artist.
His process uses significant collage elements, placed randomly to create texture, and then worked over with acrylic ink and paint to develop the subject. He has primarily focussed on two contrasting environments that he loves – Cornish harbour scenes and Central London views.
