listening - a porcelain, partially Celedon glazed sculpture.

It is the small and inconsequential details that I notice when I am walking. Reflecting on the rough texture of an acorn on the outside in contrast to its smooth inside brings thoughts of people and that they can be the same. A small fern pulls at my heart with its determination and fragility; it reminds me of a baby’s hand unfolding into mine.

In my sculptural work, I explore these ideas of belonging and connecting to my environment where I am both part of everything and of no consequence at all.

I have been tutoring adults and children in Ceramics for three years and I also run art workshops within the community. This year I have worked with many groups including MIND, The Dyspraxia Group, Oasis and Vale house Addiction Centre as well as in local schools and clubs. Running my own young people’s art workshops is also a big part of what I do, and I am very much looking forward to using the Fenners building as a community art space.

Exhibitions, commissions, art workshops, ceramic classes, community and special group workshops including joint projects, Arts Award Advisor and member of Herts Visual Arts.
