A group of Digswell Artists, based at the Farmhouse studio, will be featuring in the exhibition ‘…in conversation’ at the Fenners Gallery in Letchworth from 17th – 24th July 2015.
‘…in conversation’ is an exhibition inspired by the idea that as art can create a dialogue between the artist and the audience, can this theory be applied to the artworks themselves?
The exhibition has been curated to not only showcase each artists work, their individual talent and unique skills in their own fields, but also give the audience the rare opportunity to observe how each artists work, out of the studio environment, relates to each other in a gallery space. The artists may all share the same building and interact as artists but does this necessarily mean that their artworks, that share similar themes, ideas, and methods of practice, interact in a similar fashion? Will the artworks in ‘…in conversation’ compliment each other or contrast? How will the work relate to each other and what conversations will develop between each piece?
The ‘…in conversation’ exhibition will feature artwork across a variety of disciplines, from paintings, ceramics and textiles to sculptural objects and spatial and site specific installations.
