New Digswell Arts fellow Sue Pilborough features in Diversification of Excogitation exhibition in St Albans
March 15 - April 25
New Digswell Arts Fellow Sue Pilborough, based at the Fenners studios in Letchworth, will be showing her work in the exhibition Diversification of Excogitation alongside the artist Maureen Masterman. The exhibition will be taking place at the Trestle Arts Base in St Albans and runs from 15th March to 25th April 2019. Commenting on her work Sue says, “The need to be creative is a drive that spurs me on in multiple directions.”
Within Fine Art Sue find’s that life and nature are her sourcebooks, which triggers intuitive imaginations, developing visual responses in abstracted forms, with ambiguity, tactile and textual elements. The variance within Sue’s work and materials that she uses are important aspects “offering variable and individual interpretations”, and she likes to explore various mediums, but “I am frequently drawn back to the tactility of working with fabric, repeated forms and essence of fragility”. Sue notes that she “tends not to give explanations to my work so that viewers have the freedom of their own interpretation, imagination and understanding.
Maureen Masterman is a mixed media artist, using a variety of printmaking techniques including etching, screen printing and collographs in her work.
Diversification of Excogitation opens on 15th March and runs until 25th April 2019 at the Trestle Arts Base in St Albans.
