As the nights start to draw in and we start to think about getting cozy by the fire, it’s good time to look back to the successful spring summer that the Digswell Art Fellows have had.
Digswell art Fellows held their annual open studios in June this year. The open studios are a great opportunity to meet the artists themselves, see their work, get involved in some activities and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The artists love to meet and nurture new talent, feed imagination and tackle very unique forms of art.
Feeding children’s imaginations is a passion for Forge artists Julia Holt and Kirke Raava. This year, they were working closely with two local schools St. Johns in Digswell and Templewood in Welwyn. The focus this year was recycling and the children created show-stopping artwork which was displayed alongside the fellow’s artwork for the Open Studios. Our busy artist hub in Letchworth has a similar vibe and the open studios offer the insight of an award winning artist work and chance to get involved.
September is a busy month for our artists, many of them have exhibitions as part of the Herts Visual arts Open Studio event and many taking part of the pop up exhibitions across Hertfordshire.
Don’t forget to visit Fenner’s Studio’s in Letchworth Garden City this weekend as they open their doors for the visitors.
Saturday and Sunday 10-4pm.
