On 7th September, John W Mills, distinguished sculptor and DAT alumnus, unveiled the plaque to declare Fenners studio formally open. The previously derelict Fenners Building has been renovated largely with the help of the Letchworth Heritage Foundation. Tony Gaughan, DAT chairman, welcomed John Lewis, Chief Executive of the Foundation to the opening party on 7th September. Guests also had the opportunity to look around the 17 newly decorated studios, and meet their new occupants. Following the launch, members of the public were invited to visit the studios, meet the artists and view their work as part of the Herts Visual Arts Open Studios project. Also, with the benefit of the new gallery spaces on the ground floor, Abu Jafar and other selected artists put together Fenners First Autumn Show, which can be enjoyed by visitors until the end of September.
