What It Is

This is a workshop full of vibrancy and activity. The two-day event is held at beautiful Goldsmith’s Hall where attendees are sure to be informed, inspired, challenged, and invigorated. Both creatives and their practices will benefit.

The event is a blend of panel discussions along with keynote speakers and practical work sessions. The goal is to determine what being in a craft business is all about. It covers all the opportunities as well as the challenges of the industry. Its aim is to give useful advice on key issues.

One of the most important aspects of the event is that the two days are made to give makers time to build peer networks. Everyone can take the opportunity to stretch themselves and their ambitions with the passion they have over these two informative days.

Focus – Day one – Challenge and Opportunity – Using knowledge and foresight to grow and succeed

Focus – Day two – Distinctive Businesses – Put crafts’ unique value into perspective.

Who should attend this conference?

Any maker who has been in practice for over four years and wishes to overcome challenges in their business is an ideal attendee.

After several years of practising similar challenges recur. It takes effort to maintain a practice’s momentum and to earn enough income to survive. It takes knowledge to stay current with business legislation and still manage to market the business.

When you attend each session and participate, you will get a burst of renewed energy to return to your business more successful than ever before.

What can be gained from attending?

  • Get usable, vital resources you can put into play
  • Form genuine connections to help you create a thriving support network
  • Greater knowledge and more confidence
  • Action points that you can implement right away

Event Agenda

The event begins on both days at 10 am and ends at 5.30pm.

Updates to the keynote speakers and the agenda will be posted to the council website as needed.

Flourish is one of a series of workshops created by the Crafts Council to give makers additional skills to export and promote themselves successfully.
