jugsHelen Mason: Fellow of the Digswell Arts Trust, Fenners Building Letchworth is going to  have a Solo Art Exhibition at Café Gallery, Letchworth Arts Centre.

Tue 2 Jun — Mon 29 Jun, 2015

The paintings in this series reflect Helen’s interest in combining shapes, viewpoints and angles of everyday objects. She frequently returns to images of jugs and cups, and many of the paintings on show are studies for more complex compositions that are concerned with distortions , atmosphere, layers and solitude.

Glazes over opaque paints, inks over acrylic are techniques that are explored and developed in Helen’s work.

She likes to build layers of tone and create a sense of importance, significance or enigma around these simple, day to day objects.

Open Monday to Friday 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Saturday 10.00 am to 3.00 pm. Admission is free to all Galleries.
