Helen’s current work continues to be centred around layers and recreated shapes. The basis for these paintings is a remembered past or history using memories of places combined with observation and reference to aerial maps. Our memory distorts and changes, places fade and change.
Using places of personal significance, images are created from memory, observation and information. Reflecting the changes and alterations, Helen builds layers of drawing and paint, allowing the alterations and corrections to be visible.
