Jane Bottery will be showing at Parndon Mill Gallery in Hinterland, an exhibition of paintings, drawings and letter carving. It is a joint show with Digswell alumni Simon Langsdale. They both have an appreciation of nature writing and the wish to make meditative pieces which resonate with the viewer. The work has been influenced by the landscapes of Essex and Hertfordshire after the artists undertook a series of walks, initially inspired by J A Baker’s The Peregrine. The spaces they explored, with their juxtapositions of wildness and man-made interventions and fleeting glimpses of history tied in with their preferences for things of the periphery and for exploring the unusual and overlooked.
The exhibition will run from 10 August to 24 September with a private view on 13 August, 2 – 4pm. The gallery will be open Tuesday – Friday 10 – 5pm and Sunday 2 – 4pm and is at Parndon Mill, Elizabeth Way, Harlow, Essex CM20 2HP.
