Statement

Holly’s current practice is responding to her intimate surroundings. She is making small-scale painted studies, documenting her everyday experiences and interactions. She constructs freeze frames of fleeting moments, drawing upon the subtle and personal significance attached to everyday observations, encounters with interior and exterior spaces and their shifting parameters, fragmented memories and partially recalled exchange. The autobiographical element present in her work become obscured through re-presentation, allowing for new fictions and narratives to develop.
