What we do
Purpose and impact
We help artists develop their practice through dedicated studio space, creative exchange and opportunities for professional growth. Fellows work alongside other practising artists, sharing ideas and experience while following their own individual creative paths.
Our work also connects artists with audiences through exhibitions, Open Studios, schools and community projects.

The Forge in Digswell provides dedicated, affordable studios where Fellows can experiment, make new work and develop their practice.
Alongside individual studios, artists benefit from shared facilities and a welcoming working environment shaped by the Fellows themselves, with support from the Trust.
History and timeline
A creative home since 1957
Digswell Arts Trust was founded through the vision of educationalist Henry Morris, who believed that artists had an important role to play in society.
Since its foundation, the Trust has supported generations of artists across several locations in Hertfordshire. Its story includes Digswell House, Attimore Hall Barn, Fairlands Valley Farmhouse, The Forge and the Fenners Building.
Governance and reports
Responsible stewardship
Digswell Arts Trust is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. A volunteer Board of Trustees oversees its strategy, finances and charitable responsibilities.
The Trustees work to safeguard the Trust’s purpose, support its activities and ensure its resources are managed responsibly for the benefit of present and future artists.
