Digswell Arts fellow Julie Leaming, based at the Fenners studio in Letchworth, has a section of her ceramic sculpture artworks on display in an exhibition at the Open Door Gallery, High Street Berkhampsted. The exhibition runs until the 14th January 2019.

Julie works with charcoal, paper and clay to produce drawing and clay sculptures. Her work looks at extreme landscapes carved by the forces of nature and isolates patterns and networks within these structures to make multi dimensional works. Choosing the versatility of paper and clay the material is manipulated to make sculptural forms and installations. Drawing is also an integral part of her practice her detailed line drawings are very much part of the process for the 3 dimensional works and are often exhibited together. Julie studied graphic design and more recently a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Fine Art at the University of Hertfordshire.
