The Life Stories exhibition at Hertford Theatre Gallery brings Digswell Arts fellow Susie Coussens and Digswell Arts alumnus Helen Mason’s work together. From 24th April to 18th May 2019, both artists are represented through paintings and mixed media pieces.

Paintings by Susie Coussens’ such as Life are large-scale works that ruminate on the beauty of the human figure. The Pieta series takes traditional themes and melds them together with modern ones, drawing attention to the art of the Renaissance and its correlation with issues of today.

Helen Mason’s Chronicles feature both paintings and mixed-media drawings. All are reflections of memories of places and times that are evoked using semi-abstract shapes, colours, and text.
