Mandy Wax
Mandy is a Hertfordshire based visual and conceptual artist. She uses primarily printmaking and textile methods in her work which is strongly influenced by philosophy and psychoanalysis. She is interested in themes exploring loss, fragmentation, fantasy and freedom. Keen to raise questions through her work, she is very interested in the dialogues provoked by her images.
Mandy’s newest work focuses on her interest in the relationship and transition between states of anxiety, tranquility, comfort and security. She is interested is disrupting and distorting assumptions of comfort and reassurance. Since the beginning of 2016 she has been working on a new project ‘The Silent Rooms’, which investigates what can and cannot be said, through 3D works.
