Farmhouse artist Miriam Fraser has created Woven Words for the Threads of Time exhibition at County Hall, Hertford. As a weaver, Miriam noticed that this was the one group of individuals who hadn’t been mentioned in the Delme Radcliffe archives. Yet without weavers, none of the valuable fabrics with which the family traded would have existed.
She has chosen to weave together deconstructed documents and the relevant textiles of camel, linen, wool and silk into a poem – to tell the weavers’ story.
