Digswell Arts Trust fellow, Alex McIntyre, will exhibit in ‘Missing Narrative’ with Free Painters and Sculptors. Alex was delighted to be selected to join Free Painters and Sculptors last year as an associate member.  Now her third exhibition with the group, she will be showing new mixed media drawings produced during 2014.

Missing Narrative is the annual member’s exhibition by the Free Painters and Sculptors (FPS) and will be held at the Menier Gallery – London Bridge. This exhibition intends to investigate how visual arts often communicate something that is beyond vocabulary.

‘The painting is not a surface, but on a plane which is imagined. It moves the mind. It is not there physically at all. It is an illusion, a piece of magic, so what you see is what you see.’  Philip Guston – Abstract Expressionist – 1913 – 1980

Artist Tour of the Exhibition:

There will be an artist lead guided tour of the exhibition on Saturday 7 June 2-4pm.  The event will enable visitors to have a unique insight into a selection of the artwork direct from the artists themselves.  Participating artists include: Alberta Bamonte, Alex Harley, Bettina Reiber, Bruni Schling, Caroline Cary, James Reynolds, Malcolm Franklin and Sally Buchanan. Tickets are £6 and include wine and nibbles.
