Drawing, New Connections Residency, Watford Museum 2014 mixed media on board Alex McIntryeDigswell Arts fellow, Alex McIntyre was Artist in Residence with Watford Museum and Space2 Gallery during October – November, to coincide with Line and Location, a two person show by Ross Loveday and Alex.  The residency focused on working with New Connections, Watford Museum’s dance group for over 50’s.

New Connections rehearse in Space2 Gallery on a weekly basis and draw their inspiration from the exhibitions in the gallery.  Alex was therefore able to draw the dancers whilst they in turn took their movement from the surrounding art works.  In a beautifully serendipitous twist, many of the artworks were also originally inspired by drawings of dancers during rehearsals.

Drawings and life studies from the residency are now on display at Watford Museum until the end of the year, see www.watfordmuseum.org.uk for Museum opening times.

Alex will be running a six week class for adults on Saturday mornings, 10-12noon from January 10, 2015 at the Museum. More information and details of how to book will follow shortly.
