Artform: Fine Art

I have continued to create large foliage paintings.

I have always had a problem with the rectangular canvas and I am making cut-outs which use the image of one old master within the shape of a more contemporary practitioner. I am also creating dressed nudes – taking well known nudes (like Cranach’s Venus in the National Gallery) and dressing them in contemporary clothing and colours. I have also returned to 3 dimensional work.

I have experimented using the fluorescent colours which most art students enjoy. I have used my usual sources of images and forms including flowers and eyetraces. Fluorescent colours remain very difficult – easier, I suspect if you are a fish
