The University of Hertfordshire, School of Creative Arts has a long standing relationship with Digswell Arts Trust which goes back at least 20 years. There are now 2 part time bursaries available to help foster the continued partnership between these organisations and support the further professional development of Fellows.

The benefits are:
· Join an advanced community of arts and other related professionals
· Access extensive School workshop facilities and learning resources for research
· Gain a bursary to help fund study
· Develop postgraduate professional skills and thinking
Artists with a focus on Fine Art, Applied Arts or Photography are particularly welcome to apply. The bursary would provide 50% of the fees and allows for flexible study plans.
Digswell Fellows / students will join other enthusiastic like-minded practitioners who want to reinvigorate their creative practice through further study, guided by specialist tutors, senior research staff and internationally renowned artists, and supported by our excellent technical teams. They will use their own studio to continue their creative practice and work-in-progress tutorials may be arranged in situ. On-campus seminars and lectures are focused on two days of the week, allowing for flexible study plans to suit individual circumstances.

As Postgraduate students they will have access to excellent workshop facilities in the School of Creative Arts on the College Lane Campus in Hatfield and access to advanced library and research resources.
Combining theory and practice, the Masters Programme equips Postgraduate students with the skills and knowledge to develop original and challenging work, nurturing creativity and enhancing employment potential. Students gain in confidence not just in the core skills of their discipline but in communication and articulating their ideas. In the course of the MA, the individual artist will build a robust portfolio of work and gain self-management skills / professional skills to enhance their career prospects. The diversity of practice represented and a truly international student cohort throughout the postgraduate community creates a dynamic setting for creativity, discussion and collaboration. Students have networking and collaborative opportunities with other students on Art and Design, as well as contact with those on the Media, Music and Art Therapy courses.
Artists interested in taking up this opportunity should apply through the University Website and will be offered an interview with their portfolio, or you may want to contact Sally for a conversation. Applications need to be received before 18 July.
To find out more about the MA go to the website for further details (http://www.herts.ac.uk/apply/postgraduate-opportunities) or send an email to the Programme Leader, Sally Freshwater (s.freshwater@herts.ac.uk) and discuss the possibilities. Sally is available for conversations with anyone interested. This is a one-off opportunity for Sept 2014 entrants only.
