A One day workshop, which will cover a range of techniques, media and processes by etching and mark making directly onto an inked up plate combined with embossing techniques using found objects. You will use oil based litho inks and have the opportunity to explore a range of ways to create a print from your plate using the etching press as well as a variety of paper surfaces to create unique and expressive layered imagery.
What is included in the cost;
All materials will be provided; including artist quality printmaking paper and oil based inks. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also included.
Who is the course suitable for;
Beginners and experienced artists are welcome, (including students). You do not need any previous experience with printmaking equipment as there will be a full induction at the start of the day into using the equipment. This will cover health and safety needs. (previous workshop attendees do not need to repeat this induction) The teaching is individual throughout the day due to the small size of each class, so can be tailored to individual needs. Max no. is 6 per session.
What will you need to bring?
You will need an apron / old shirt and a packed lunch.

Please note that forms and payments must arrive no later than 4 days before the course date in order to ensure adequate materials are prepared.
Should the course have to be cancelled each applicant will be contacted by 2 days before the course date and all payments will be returned in full. If you need to withdraw your booking please inform Sally by e mail or phone as soon as you know and definitely by 4 days before the course date, otherwise It will not be possible to refund payments made.
