Solar Printing Workshop – Using Photopolymer plates with Sally Tyrie

Written by Forge

On October 11, 2019

We will look at how to create sophisticated prints using Photopolymer plates. You will create at least one plate from a drawing or Photograph that has been transferred onto acetate. This image will then be exposed onto a light sensitive plate using our UV light box. We will spend the afternoon making prints from your plates and exploring colour & mark making techniques.

You will be provided with an A5 Plate (or 2 A6 plates) and be able to purchase additional plates if needed. This day is very much about experimentation and taking risks and you will be shown a range of methods when creating your imagery. For instance ways to edit and print your image onto acetate as well as ways to improve the contrast using hand drawn methods. For those that wish to take the process further there will also be the opportunity to try out the use of stencils to create your solar plate.

Although this workshop will be busy and ambitious it is suitable for beginners as well as the more experienced wishing to broaden and develop ideas and project work.

Book your place here (this link will take you to the Eventbrite ticket page) Fee of 65.27 inc booking fee.
