Spring Open weekend at the Forge Studios attracts over 250 visitors

The Forge opened their studios on 10th/ 11 th May. It was a highly successful weekend with large number of visitors. £160 was raised for Grove House Hospice thanks to the donation of homemade cakes and the stirling work of Vincent Grassi and Tony Komodromou who spent 2 days manning the refreshments table.

The work of the resident artists and the print makers were showcased throughout the building. Artists were delighted with the very positive feedback and the range of visitors, including some that were discovering the site and artwork for the first time. Visitors came from far and wide, with one couple from Denmark taking time out from their tour around Europe.

Reflecting on the event, artists Permindar Kaur and Veronica Grassi noted that it was clear from the many conversations they had had that ‘many of the visitors either worked within the arts or had a genuine interest’.
