suman gujral printSuman Gujral, who is a print member at The Forge, entered two works into the RA Summer Exhibition this year for the first time. St Alban’s Art Society forwarded her name to The Culture Show as they were looking for a first time entrant to follow and she was chosen.

The BBC interviewed her at home and filmed her on her journey into London to deliver her work. She talked about how much support she has had from the other artists at the Forge and how she came to be a printmaker. Suman was filmed making prints at the Digswell Arts Trust studio and later, opening the envelope with the results. Sadly her work was not accepted but she says:

“It’s been a surreal but very exciting experience. It’s made me reflect on my work and why I do this”.

The programme airs on June 11th at 10pm on BBC2.
