This weekend, the artists at The Forge will open their studio doors to welcome members of the public into their work spaces, keen to share their inspirations, motivations and methods of their art practices with the wider world.

The event will kick off with a private view, open to all, Friday the 1st of June, between 5 and 8pm and continue on Saturday and Sunday between 11 and 4pm. There will be great opportunities to purchase art throughout the weekend.
This will be the last Forge Open Studios for two of our longest-serving fellows, Caryl Beach and Hideki Arichi.

Simon Langsdale, a letter carver will be giving a demonstration of his art and there will be two workshops for children – monoprinting and badge making.
The Printroom will be open, with Print Fellows exhibiting their work and available to discuss printmaking methods and techniques and two of the Fellows, Julia Holt and Kirke Raava have been working with local schools- Templewood School at Welwyn Garden City and St. John’s School at Digswell on a recycling project and the exciting results of this creative endeavour will be on show throughout the studios. In addition, Digswell Women’s Institute have kindly agreed to help provide refreshments on Saturday and Sunday.
