The concept of time can be subjective. It can be a few moments, or those few moments may seem as if they are several days. Time can pass without a trace. It involves perception as well as memory.

According to French philosopher Henri Bergson, the term “Duration”: can conceptualize the concept of the flux of time. Time is a continuous state of changing to become.

Many works of art have the ability to engage memory and time for the production and the reception. Many of these appear to have the ability to slow time down as a direct result of their response. There are many approaches to engage viewers in the concept of time.

Death Dreams & Desire

Death Dreams & Desire

We are a collective of five working artists who meet regularly to share and discuss the progress of our work. Through doing so we have identified a number of common themes; memory, loss, re-emergence and return. These are expressed by each of us through a variety of concepts and techniques. Our practices include drawing, painting and printmaking; sculpture; photography and film;
documentation, installation and live art.
