Veronika Peat
Veronika Peat was born in Moscow, growing up in the writers’ town, Peredelkino. She has a multidisciplinary background having previously studied literature and languages, together with drawing, painting, and media arts. Her work explores themes and imagery in Russian literature and folklore, and applies these to contemporary experience and culture. The expressive gesture and energy of drawing is the foundation of her painting practice, binding imagination and observation in the forming of an image.
Veronika has recently completed the postgraduate ‘Drawing Year’ at the Royal Drawing School, London (2017-18) and is currently teaching at the University of Hertfordshire.
