Discover weaving and natural dyeing classes with Digswell Arts alumna Amy Wilson at her studio in Weston, Hertfordshire. Amy recently completed an MA in Sustainable Design and offers a range of creative workshops, from introductory weaving sessions and regular weekly classes to specialist weaving and natural dyeing workshops.
Classes are suitable for beginners and developing makers, with small-group tuition and a relaxed, supportive approach.

Weaving Classes & Workshops

Loom Weaving Introduction
Create your own unique woven cloth on a traditional table loom, exploring a beautiful selection of tactile yarns and textures. Your finished piece can become a wearable scarf or wall hanging.
Private or small group tuition for 1–3 people
From £75
All equipment, yarns and light refreshments are included.
Weekly Weaving Workshops
Develop your weaving skills in a small, friendly group, working at your own pace with demonstrations, ongoing tuition and support. Studio looms are available, or bring your own.
Mondays 6–8pm & Thursdays 10.30am–12.30pm
From £20 per 2-hour workshop
Basic yarns for beginners are included, with flexible attendance across the term.
Traditional Pattern Weaves
Explore a specific weaving technique in a small, friendly group, with demonstrations, ongoing tuition and support while working at your own pace. Beginners are welcome.
£60 per person, including all required materials, tools and a pre-set rigid heddle loom.
Create a wall hanging artwork using clasped weft variations. This playful weaving technique creates staggered picks or solid blocks of colour that do not travel continuously from selvedge to selvedge across the warp.
Basic warp and weft yarns are provided and recommended for beginners. Alternative yarns may be used by prior agreement, and a wider range of weaving yarns is also available to purchase from the studio.
